Ishan Porel a part of India's Under-19 World Cup 2018 winning team has Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli on his dream wicket list. Added into the squad by Punjab Kings at a base price of Rs 20 lakh before the 2020 edition of IPL, this young fast bowler did not get a chance in the last IPL season.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Ishan Porel was asked about his dream wicket in the upcoming season of IPL which is scheduled from 9th April. In the 1st match, Royal Challengers Bangalore is to compete against the defending champions Mumbai Indians. Ishan Porel addressed Virat Kohli as the best batsman across all the formats.

"On a funnier side, I got KL Rahul out in a Ranji Trophy match so I've ticked that box. And obviously, Rohit Sharma is great while facing fast bowling. He can hit those good-length balls with ease. Obviously, picking those wickets would be a dream come true for me because I have seen them win matches for India while growing up. But yes, I would like to take the wicket of Virat Kohli because he is the No. 1 batsman across all the three formats," Porel said.

"I bowled a lot. I was in Dubai so I joined the Indian team there and got 3 to 4 sessions there. I was in Australia for 10 days, where I bowled a lot. It was a learning experience because bowling to such great and quality batsmen like Rohit SharmaVirat KohliKL Rahul - although I had bowled to him earlier during the Punjab Kings nets - bowling to them was a huge lesson. The mindset, the thinking, and the execution part need to be bang on target," Porel added.

Ishan Porel was the part of the net bowling unit sent to Australia last year but had to return to India due to a hamstring injury. While he was there, he bowled to the Indian batsmen including opener Rohit Sharma and skipper Virat Kohli.

Punjab Kings will compete against RCB on 30th April which will be the 28th match of this 14th IPL season. Ishan Porel has grabbed 29 wickets in 19 T20 matches with a bowling average of 15.82 and an economy rate of 6.46, On the other side, Virat Kohli is the highest run-scorer of the IPL tournament with 5,878 runs in 192 matches with an average of 38.16 which includes 5 centuries and 39 half-centuries. During the T20I series against England, the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli has also announced that he will be opening the innings for RCB in IPL 2021
