With just a few days left for the inaugural game of the upcoming 14th edition of the Indian Premier League, 2021 between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians scout and wicket-keeping consultant Kiran More has tested positive for COVID-19.
The former Indian wicket-keeper Kiran More is currently asymptomatic and has been isolated as per the health guidelines issued by the BCCI.
"Mumbai Indians wicket keeping consultant and scout Kiran More has tested positive for Covid-19. Kiran More is currently asymptomatic and has been isolated," Mumbai Indians said in an official statement on Tuesday.
"Mumbai Indians and Kiran More have followed all the BCCI health guidelines. The MI medical team will continue to monitor Kiran More's health and abide by the BCCI protocols," MI added.
Earlier, two ground staff members and one plumber tested positive for coronavirus at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
It has also come to the news that in order to conduct the IPL safely at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the groundstaff members would not be traveling and they would be staying in the stadium itself.
Devdutt Padikkal of RCB, Axar Patel of DC, and Nitish Rana of KKR are the three players who have tested positive for Covid-19 ahead of IPL. However, Nitish Rana has now recovered and he has also started his training along with the KKR team.
